PRS Builders, headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a leading Construction company with a rich legacy of excellence, trust, and quality, founded by the far-sighted visionary Late P. For four generations, we have been providing distinctive and acclaimed construction services for our clients and the community that has stood the test of time, with the civil engineering and construction tradition of PRS family dating back to 1933 when Late S. Perumal Pillai, father of P. Ratnaswamy was awarded the construction contract of the Legislative Assembly Hall of the then Travancore State by the then Maharaja of Travancore. The foundation stone of this prestigious project was laid on 12th December 1933, and it was opened on 8th February 1939 by Sir C. P. Ramaswamy Aiyar, the then Dewan of Travancore. It was declared as a Historical Monument on 24th February 2001 and was dedicated to the nation by the Vice President of India, Shri Kishan Kant.
From 1950 to 1990 Late P. Ratnaswamy expanded the activities of PRS Group. In 1961, he constructed the Government Secretariat - South Block. He also constructed most of the major landmark buildings in Trivandrum, to name a few Sri Chitra Thirunal Medical Centre, Reserve Bank of India, Regional Cancer Centre, Co- Bank Towers etc. Later, he diversified into healthcare by establishing PRS Hospital in 1986.
Later, we constructed several landmark buildings, including the EMS Academy, 252-apartment complex for the Kerala State Housing Board, AKG Apartments and various other iconic projects.
Another important aspect of our journey is that PRS was among the pioneers in introducing apartment projects in Trivandrum city. Our journey in this segment began with PRS Sangeeth in 1986, followed by several landmark projects such as PRS Court in 1988, PRS Enclave in 1992, and PRS Grace in 1994, among many others.
Since 1933, PRS has played a significant role in shaping the city by constructing numerous major landmarks, including hotels, hospitals, government offices, apartments, commercial complexes, banks and other prominent establishments. Our most recent landmark project, Mararji Bhavan, stands as another testament to this enduring legacy.
Over the years, as the face of Trivandrum city evolved, PRS too continued to grow alongside it. Our journey has been closely intertwined with the growth and transformation of the city, and we take pride in having contributed to its development for decades.
We may be the single builder in kerala who can claim a traceable tradition of over 93 years in the construction landscape of South India. In the last two to three decades the company has expanded significantly in the areas of construction, healthcare, hospitality, education and retail.
